Pizza and Purge Party

Saturday, January 28, 2023, 10am-2pm
Summer Purge Party in JUNE!

All members are welcome to join our book room weeding event. Our shelves are full and we need to pull books that are in poor condition or not selling in order to make room for new donations. We start at 10am and have pizza or another refreshment delivered around noon to keep us fueled until the event ends at 2pm. This is a great way to help the Friends, learn about the book room, and meet other volunteers. Purged books will be donated to another Non-profit organization; if damaged they will be recycled.
STAY TUNED FOR NEWS ABOUT OUR SUMMER PURGE PARTY!

Brews for Books

A fundraiser to benefit the Malden Public Library

Our first craft beer tasting was in September 2018. Neighbors and friends gathered to sip local craft beer and cider, mingle, and sample bites from local restaurants, all in the historic Converse Memorial Building of the Malden Public Library. The evening also included live music by the Outrageous Forture Trio, games on the lawn, tours of the Library's art collection, and raffle and auction items. We hope to plan an event for the 2024 calendar year.

We had around 20 different brews to taste. Participating breweries included:

  • Artifact Cider

  • Bone Up

  • Down the Road Beer Company

  • Idle Hands

  • Jack's Abby

  • Merrimack Ales

  • Shakesbeer

  • Small Change Brewing
